BUT SHE HAD A DIMPLE
When the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

It was never a fair relationship, not for me. I endured, while she enjoyed. I bent until I nearly broke, while she basked in the comfort of my compromises. That’s the cruel irony of love: the one who wants it more often suffers more. I wanted it and wanted her more.

There were countless moments I thought of walking away. But every time I came close, I’d remember her smile—more specifically, her dimple. That single dimple had the power to disarm all my resolve. It wasn’t just a small indentation on her cheek; it was the silent promise of the woman I wished she could be.

Yes, the spirit was willing… but the flesh? Weak. Fragile. Foolish.

Still, no matter how deeply you crave someone, there comes a moment when desire must bow to dignity. A man, no matter how much he loves, must one day stand and say, “Enough is enough.” And though those words may tear through his chest like shrapnel, he must say them. Because to remain silent is to die slowly.

Maybe for you, it’s not a dimple, it’s the person’s laughter. His cologne. Her curves. His six-pack. Her voice. His money. The way she walks. The way he listens. Her body. His beard. Her ambition. His car. Her eyes. His social status. Or simply the way they make you feel wanted when they want something.

But deep down, you know this isn’t love—it’s attachment dressed in illusion.

Pray. Surrender it to God. Tell Him honestly: “Lord, I’ve lost control. Take over.” For only He can steer you when your heart has forgotten how. But when you pray, be prepared for the answer. God’s will may break your heart before it heals your life. Still, trust Him. He loves you too much to leave you in what’s slowly destroying you.

May the Lord grant you the courage to walk away from anything that is slowly killing your spirit, no matter how beautiful its disguise.
